What should I say to my mother-in-law that keeps giving used clothes to my baby as gifts?
My mother in law gave me used baby clothes as a gift at my baby shower (Both of them). I was offended then but didn’t say anything because my husband is a passive person and just thought we should let it go. Even though the clothes she gave us were obviously worn and not just slightly either. Well then she did it again for Christmas. She gave her first and only grandson (my baby) used clothing and books. And to top that off she even has one of my son’s uncle’s giving him used clothes also. My mother in law is not hurting for cash at all, and don’t get me wrong I don’t mind used clothing, I just don’t think they should be given as gifts! Wrapped and everything! I’m really offended. She gets all offensive if you say anything to her (her favorite comment is "nothing I do is good enough" But this is her first and only grandchild, I just think she would like for him to have new things also. Someone help me! I need to say something to her and I need to know what is the best way to approach this situation!
