The only cruel thing is that you&#039;ve made this harder on yourself AND your daughter. The sooner you get her started sleeping in her own bed, the better. Once a routine like this begins, it becomes very difficult to break. Babies often cry when put to bed, simply because they want to be held. After my daughter was born, it  was one of the most difficult things I had to do as a new parent! Break the habit now.
