Is a baby shower a family affair, or only for friends of the expectant parents? Should the expectant parents include their own parents (the grandmothers and grandfathers-to-be) among those invited?

It depends. In our family we make it a fun get-together with husbands (those who are willing), children, aunts, uncles, friends, and anyone who loves the expectant parents. I think a lot of it has to do with family traditions.
I’ve been to plenty of showers that were friends only. They were fun, just different from the way my family does it.
Try putting lemongrass plants close to your house. This seems to assist. Also, you could plant citronella plants.
